Serial no. A95499. .22 longrifle caliber, 6-shot fluted cylinder, 4-inch octagonal barrel, engravedon left side in block letters and script: “Made Expressley for William B.Edwards.” Topstrap marked “Webley & Scott Ltd/Birmingham.” Britishproofmarks on barrel and cylinder. Markings also include “Made in England” on right side of topstrap and winged bullet with “Webley” on rightside of barrel lug. Blued finish, with motherof- pearl grips. With red tagmarked in Edwards’ handwriting “Unique one of a kind Webley madeand misspelled ? “Expressley for William B. Edwards” . . . .” Condition: Fine. Light handling marks. Fine bore. This inscribed revolver isa reflection of the wide range of Guns magazine editor Edwards’ strongconnections in the firearms field. An inveterate traveler, he visited numerous gunmakers, dealers, distributors, writers and collectors, throughout the United States, the U.K. and Europe.
