10 Gauge Lefever C Grade Double Barrel Shotgun

Serial no. 10927, 10 ga., 32" Damascus barrels with a matted concave rib with doll’s head extension. Rib marked: Lefever Arms Makers, Syracuse, NY. Casehardened boxlock action with sideplates. Action marked: C. Action and sideplates border engraved with foliate scroll details and game scene ovals: left side, setter, right side, pointer both in the field. Carved fences with arrow point half trefoils, medallions engraved around screw heads, extractor, automatic safety with later rear stop, cocking indicators, adjustable triggers, disc-set strikers. Finely checkered pistol-grip stock of partially figured walnut, later 1" recoil pad, vacant nickel silver oval, drop points, checkering with scalloped borders, fluted grip cap, finely checkered splinter fore-end with push button release and horn tip.

Fine, as partially redone. Barrels show 99% rebrowned finish. Bores show uniform light pitting. Action shows a silver gray patina with some spotting. Striker discs appear to be replacements. Some small screws show marring. Stock and fore-end show a recoat and refreshed checkering. Drop point shows wear. Fore-end shows a small repair around the horn tip.
